Convocation Schedule
The convocation ceremonies are meticulously scheduled over two consecutive days to accommodate both undergraduate and postgraduate students:
- Undergraduate Convocation:Friday, 26th April 2024
- Postgraduate Convocation:Saturday, 27th April 2024
This arrangement ensures that all graduating students are given the spotlight to celebrate their academic achievements in a befitting manner.
Acknowledgements and Appointments
Professor Onuchuku extended heartfelt gratitude to the State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Joseph Fubara, GSSRS, for his unwavering support, particularly in reconstituting the Governing Council of the University with Chief (Barrister) Adokiye Amiesimaka, CON, DSSRS, as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman. This reconstitution reflects the Governor’s commitment to the advancement of higher education in the state.
The Senate meeting also saw the election of four esteemed Senate Members to the eleventh Governing Council of IAUE:
- Professor Isaac Ogundu, Head of Ndele Campus and Dean, Faculty of Vocational and Technical Education.
- Professor Beatrice Awortu, Director, General Studies Unit, and Department of History and Diplomatic Studies.
- Professor Ozioma Ekpete, Dean, Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences.
- Professor Livinus Ogbonda, Dean, Faculty of Education.
These elections are pivotal in ensuring that the University’s governance is reflective of its academic diversity and excellence.
Matriculation for Fresh Students
In addition to the convocation dates, the Senate has also approved Saturday, 16th March 2024, as the matriculation date for new students. This event marks the formal induction of fresh students into the University community, setting the stage for their academic journey at IAUE.

With these dates set, IAUE is gearing up for a year of celebration, marking not only the accomplishments of its graduating students but also welcoming new ones into its academic fold.
