Entry Requirements and Duration
4-Year Degree Programmes
The University of Nigeria offers a 4-Year Sandwich Degree Programme tailored for NCE and National Diploma holders.
Admission Requirements:
- Candidates must have achieved at least a Merit in NCE in the relevant field from a recognized Nigerian higher institution.
- Additionally, candidates must have obtained a minimum of five (5) credit-level passes in O’ level examinations, including Mathematics and English Language, or their equivalents, within no more than two sittings.
OR
- Candidates must have achieved at least a Merit in National Diploma from a recognized higher institution.
- Similar to the first requirement, candidates must also meet the aforementioned O’ level requirements.
5-Year Degree Sandwich Programme
The University also provides a 5-Year Sandwich Degree Programme for holders of qualifications such as WASCE/GCE/NECO, NABTEB, Teachers Grade II Certificate, NCE, and National Diploma.
Admission Requirements:
- Candidates must have passed NCE, in addition to securing a minimum of five (5) credits at O’ Level or their equivalents, acquired within no more than two sittings.
OR
- Candidates must possess five (5) credit passes at the SSCE O’ Level within no more than two sittings, including Mathematics and English, or any other subjects as stipulated by the respective programmes.
Application Process: A Step-by-Step Guide
- JAMB Registration: Applicants should register through JAMB (State office)selecting UNN as their first choice to facilitate JAMB’s capturing and registration process.
- Payment of Processing Fee:After JAMB registration, visit the UNN portal to generate a “Sandwich Registration Invoice” and pay the processing fee of N5,000.00 (for the 4-year programme) or N10,000.00 (for the 5-year programme) via Remita.
- Online Verification Form: Return to the UNN portal, complete the Verification Form online, print out the completed Registration Form, and submit it alongside academic credentials to the Sandwich and Evening Programmes Unit Office of the Registry Department.
Note: Candidates for the 5-Year Degree Programme will need to sit an aptitude test at the University.

- The 2024 JAMB Sandwich forms are now available. Importantly, candidates are not required to sit for the JAMB examination for these programmes.
