  • Degree Pursuit: The award is open to candidates for M.Sc., M.Phil., or Ph.D. degrees. M.Sc. and M.Phil. students must be in their second year of studies by the application deadline. It is important to note that individuals who have already completed their degrees are not eligible for this award.
  • Field of Study: Students specialising in soil science, agronomy, horticultural science, or tree crop science, with a particular focus on plant nutrition, are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Previous Winners: It’s important to highlight that past recipients of the African Plant Nutrition Scholar Award are not eligible to apply again.



Application Process

The application process is straightforward but requires attention to detail to ensure that all necessary documents are submitted correctly. Applicants are required to provide:

  • An electronic copy of their university transcripts, including both cumulative and final grades.
  • Two letters of support, one of which must be from the applicant’s major professor. These letters should be on official letterhead, signed, and include contact information.
